Details on Bus/Coach parking and Road Closures for upcoming events

Festival Republic and MCD Promotions have advised the National Transport Authority of the below regarding bus/ coach parking for the Malahide Castle concert series

a)      There will be one Coach Park provided on the day of each event.

b)     All services must use the Coach Park only. Unless the proposed service is an approved shuttle service (see point f below) no services will be permitted to use public lands around the Parkas a parking and/or stopping location as these raise public order risks, such as traffic and crowd management.

c)      All vehicles should remain parked onsite for the duration of the event, however if it is essential that you leave, you must ensure you return to the coach park by 21:30 at the latest.

d)     Coach operators intending to use more than one vehicle to provide services should clearly indicate this on their licence application to the Authority. Unless otherwise stated, all departures are for the use of one vehicle only. Failure to include this information may cause a delay in the processing of your application.

e)     Coach operators attending the event should notify Festival Republic mconway@festivalrepublic.com in advance of the event with the number of vehicles expected. Where Coach operators have multiple vehicles, parking stewards will endeavour, where possible, to park vehicles together but must be notified of this in advance.

f)  If you wish to operate a shuttle service, please contact Festival Republic: mconway@festivalrepublic.com as soon as possible to discuss your proposal.

g)      Please see also below, the terms and conditions of access to Back Road Car Park. The Coach Park opening times and gate times are as shown in the table below – coaches will not bepermitted to enter the Coach Park until opening time listed below, nor will passengers be permitted to disembark at any other point, unless previously agreed with An Garda Síochána andFingal County Council

Malahide Castle Concerts – Bus Operators Terms and Conditions – Back Road

The following terms and conditions of access to Back Road

1.     All operators must provide details of the number and sizes of buses that they will bring for exiting at the end of the evening.

2.      All operators must operate in accordance with the management plan for the dropping off and pick up of passengers.

3.      Please follow the instruction of all Garda, Event Security and Transport Staff on your journey to and while parked in the Coach Park.

4.      Bus stop approval is only for parking of buses, coaches and minibuses in the coach park for the duration of the concert.

5.      Buses, coaches and minibuses will not be permitted to park or drop off / pick up on the side of the road in the area surrounding Malahide Castle Demesne. Vehicles that park in the local areamay be liable to be towed away and the operator could be faced with further Garda sanctions.

6.      It is the policy of An Garda Síochána and MCD Productions that no bus, coach or minibus companies permit attendees with alcohol or those who are intoxicated to board vehicles to this event. Alcohol consumption on these vehicles is illegal and a fine system to the driver and coach operator will be in place.

7.      No intoxicated attendees or those with alcohol will be permitted to disembark from coaches, buses or minibuses to the event area. To this end we would appreciate if this message could becommunicated to all customers travelling via your concert coach, bus or minibus service.

8.      An Garda Síochána and MCD Productions are asking all operators bringing buses, coaches or minibuses to enforce the MCD Productions and Garda drinks policy on the coaches.

MARLAY PARK CONCERTS & LONGITUDE FESTIVAL 2022

Green Day – MONDAY 27TH JUNE 

Guns N’ Roses – TUESDAY 28TH JUNE 

Red Hot Chilli Peppers – Wednesday 29TH JUNE 

Longitude Festival – FRIDAY 1ST JULY – SUNDAY 3rd JULY 

FREE BUS PARKING FACILITY WILL BE PROVIDED IN THE COLLEGE ROAD CAR PARK FOR PRIVATE COACHES TRAVELLING TO THE CONCERTS. PLEASE DO NOT DROP YOUR PASSENGERS AT ANY OTHER AREA AROUND MARLAY PARK.

CCTV IS IN PLACE ON GRANGE ROAD AND COLLEGE ROAD DURING AND AFTER THE CONCERTS. COACH OPERATORS WHO ATTEMPT TO DROP OFF OR PICK UP

PASSENGERS ON THESE AREAS WILL BE RECORDED AND FOLLOWED UP BY THE 

NATIONAL TRANSPORT AUTHORITY AND BY AN GARDA SÍOCHÁNA

COACH PARKS WILL BE OPEN FROM 3:00PM EACH DAY.

Routing for Coaches from the M50 Use J13 –

•                     Exit the M50 at junction 13 interchange (Dundrum).

•                     Follow Brehonfield Road – R133 in the direction of Rathfarnham.

•                     Turn left at Ballinteer St John’s GAA Club onto R822 (signposted Ticknock). 

•                     Turn right at the traffic lights (at Taylor’s Tree Rock Pub) onto College Road R113.

•                     The entrance to the car- parks is off College Road.

PUBLIC BUS PASSENGER SERVICES

PLEASE NOTE in addition you will need an event or venue route licence from the National Transport Authority if you provide a public bus passenger service.

In simple terms*, a public bus passenger service means the use of a bus or buses for the carriage of passengers in such a manner that:

•                     a) each journey is open to use by members of the public; and

•                     b) a charge or charges are paid in respect of each passenger. Charges may be paid prior to, during or after the journey has been taken. These include, for example, cash, online payments, pre-paid journey cards and pre-paid tickets.

Bus Operators Terms and Conditions – College Road Coach Park

The following terms and conditions of access to College Road Coach Park

1. Please use Junction 13 (SB) and Junction 13 (NB) on the M50 to access the College Road Coach Park.

2. All operators must provide details of the number and sizes of buses that they will bring for exiting at the end of the evening.

3. All operators must operate in accordance with the management plan for the dropping off and pick up of passengers.

4. Please follow the instruction of all Garda, Event Security and Transport Staff on your journey to and while parked in the Coach Park.

5. The gates times for Marlay Park Concerts is 16:00hrs on the 27th and 29th and 15:00hrs on the 28th. The gate times for Longitude Festival are 13:30hrs each day.

6. Bus stop approval is only for parking of buses, coaches and minibuses in the coach park for the duration of the concert.

7. Unlike previous concerts, buses, coaches and minibuses will not be permitted to park or drop off / pick up on the side of the road in the area surrounding Marlay Park. Vehicles that park in the local area may be liable to be towed away and the operator could be faced with further Garda sanctions.
