Alexander Dennis Limited (ADL), has announced that it has appointed Gerry Lynch as Regional Service Manager for Ireland, continuing investment in aftermarket facilities and support for Irish customers made by the manufacturer and its local service partner, Ardee Coach Trim.
Gerry Lynch, who is based in Dublin, will be the go-to point of contact for bus and coach operators across the island of Ireland, and will provide aftersales support to customers and the team of eight field service engineers at Ardee Coach Trim, ADL’s service partner which is supporting all Alexander Dennis bus and Plaxton coach products.
Ardee Coach Trim has recently completed a new four-bay workshop at its main site in Ardee, County Louth, approximately halfway between Dublin and Belfast. The new facility is utilised for pre-delivery inspections of ADL vehicles entering Ireland and is staffed by a dedicated team of four. In the Mid-West, Ardee Coach Trim has opened a new workshop in Ennis, County Clare, located on the busy Cork–Limerick–Galway corridor where it is ideally placed to support Bus Éireann fleets as well as retail coach and bus customers.
ADL has also brought a 4,500 additional square foot of spare parts warehouse capacity into use in the Greater Dublin area, increasing local stock availability and shortening delivery times to customers across the island. The company has also invested in lifting equipment to cope with heavier parts and has increased its headcount, with a regional parts sales manager also due to join shortly.
Tony Davis, ADL Group Aftermarket Director, said: “ADL prides itself in providing best-in-class aftermarket support and our Irish customers are no exception. By combining our own investment with Ardee Coach Trim as a reliable and capable partner, we have the perfect infrastructure to support Alexander Dennis buses, including the plug-in hybrid and battery-electric buses we are building for the National Transport Authority, as well as Plaxton coaches which are ever more popular with independent coach operators.”
Ciaran Lennon, Ardee Coach Trim Director, said: “Complementary to our field service engineers, Ardee Coach Trim have invested in infrastructure including background management staff, manned store facilities, a main workshop facility in Ardee and our newly added southwestern hub in Ennis, plus the service capability for vehicle transportation.”
As service partner to ADL, Ardee Coach Trim provides this added-value support to all ADL customers across the island of Ireland. Ciaran Lennon added: “We have invested in all aspects on our service package to support our customers, and no more so than our human resources where we have recruited a highly skilled team of currently 21 personnel to support ADL products and its customers. We endeavour to further grow and enhance the customer experience.”
