“An unbelievable success for our first time out”, so said Mark Griffin, CEO of Binswood Media, organisers of the ITT HUB at Farnborough Exhibition Centre.
Despite Covid 19 having the first event postponed, the second lockdown could not dampen the enthusiasm or success of the first ITT Hub. Staged on the grounds of Farnborough Airport in a purpose-built exhibition centre, with outdoor and indoor areas, there was something for everybody, with new vehicles, ride and drive opportunities, a substantial programme of conferences with an impressive line-up of speakers. On the opening day, the key note speaker was Major Tim Peake CMG. He was the first British Astronaut to visit the international space centre.
There were new launches by a number of manufacturers, for example Daimler Bus used the event to launch the right hand drive new Mercedes-Benz eCitaro, Wrightbus launched the Hydrogen Double Decker and EVM had it new Cityline range and a composite bodied accessibility Sprinter. Alternative power supplies were very much to the fore in the bus market and attendees got a great insight into what is coming in the future
More than 160 exhibitors across indoor and outdoor displays welcomed commercial and passenger fleet operators, government agencies, and policy makers at the first opportunity for more than a year for the industry to convene face-to-face.
ITT Hub is back from 11 – 12 May 2022, and we will have a further report in our Summer edition of Fleet Bus & Coach later in the month.
